Position Summary:
The Solar Mechanical Superintendent plays a key role in overseeing the mechanical construction aspects of utility-scale solar projects. This includes coordinating construction schedules, execution plans, and managing daily challenges to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while meeting quality standards.

- Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel
- Ability to travel with a valid passport (Canada and USA)
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver projects in-line with the client’s expectations.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees.
- Manages landowner expectations, concerns, and Right of Way access.
- Provides information about site activities including accurate install rates for mechanical discipline, projected task completion and hazards to the Construction Manager.
- Schedules and ensures appropriate staffing for daily mechanical construction activities with employees.
- Identifies potential schedule changes, workflow, and staffing issues.
- Maintains mechanical construction schedule, identifies upcoming issues, and solves problems.
- Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.
- Understands the project plans and specifications.
- Prepares schedules and supervises completion of a final mechanical punch list.
- Ensures that mechanical structures – including all foundations, tracker/tables, and modules are built as per specification.
- Ensures site prep work is executed as per contracts, design, and specification.
- Inputs into the mechanical execution of overall construction plan. Understands productivity rates to effectively build the overall mechanical execution plan.
- Reviews the engineer’s drawings prior to beginning construction to ensure that the project can be built in a safe and reliable manner.
- Understands quality control program to ensure processes are implemented according to the design of the project and are consistent.
- Maintains an organized job site, including the onsite construction office.
- Manages QA for mechanical construction teams under his/her direction.
- Manages design change notices.
- Manages subcontractor contracts to ensure compliance.
- Manages the mechanical material on site.
- Provides the required documents, drawings, and other forms to active projects for monitoring.
- Ensures completion of all required permitting activities before commencement of work.
- Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
- Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- 4+ years of Solar construction environment or Utility Construction environment (Required)
- Valid Driver’s License Required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Safety and Provincial/Federal Health and Safety Legislative requirements
- Ability to interpretation of a project schedule
